My Story

When my rescue dog Max was diagnosed with chronic osteoarthritis at just four years old, the conventional answer was straightforward: lifelong anti-inflammatory medication. The drugs worked — but watching Max lose his appetite, become lethargic, and need quarterly liver checks didn't feel like the whole answer.

So I started researching. What began as late-night PubMed sessions turned into a three-year deep dive into veterinary nutrition science, phytotherapy, and the endocannabinoid system. I earned my certification through the Companion Animal Sciences Institute (CASI), collaborated with veterinary nutritionists across Europe, and eventually found a protocol — combining omega-3 supplementation, green-lipped mussel, and CBD oil — that transformed Max's quality of life without the side effects.

He's seven now, runs on the beach every morning, and hasn't needed prescription NSAIDs in two years.

Why ForPetsHealthcare

The information I needed existed. It was scattered across peer-reviewed journals, veterinary conference proceedings, and clinical trial databases — but almost none of it was written for the person who just wants to help their dog feel better.

ForPetsHealthcare exists to bridge that gap. Every article on this site is referenced against PubMed's database of over 100,000 peer-reviewed veterinary studies, written in plain language, and reviewed by licensed veterinarians before publication. No pseudoscience, no miracle claims — just the best available evidence, honestly presented.

Our Editorial Standards

  • Evidence graded: every health claim is labelled with its evidence level (Strong / Moderate / Preliminary) so you know how much weight to give it.
  • Vet reviewed: every article is reviewed by a licensed veterinarian before publication.
  • No hidden agendas:when we recommend a product we disclose the relationship. When we don't recommend something, we say why.
  • Updated regularly: veterinary science moves fast. We revise articles when new evidence changes the picture.

A Note on Affiliate Links

Some links on this site are affiliate links — if you purchase through them, we earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. This helps keep ForPetsHealthcare free and ad-supported rather than paywalled. Our editorial recommendations are never influenced by affiliate relationships; we only recommend products we have independently reviewed and would give to our own pets.
